Hi there,

Sorry I didn't see this post before.

Don't pre - lighten the whole head.  Ask your hairdresser to apply a lot of lightening foils throughout the hair and develop them to pale.  Then immediately afterwards apply a Wella Color Touch (or Diacolour or similar) quasi colour in a 7.1 Medium Ash Blonde throughout the whole head.  What this will do is deepen the blonde highlights to a lightest ash brown and produce a very natural cool to neautral light brown effect in your hair colour.  The first attempt may still look more on the brunette side, but if you repeated this about 8 weeks later you'd get the exact shade you want.

The best method I always find to achieve that lightest ash brown to dark blonde shade is with highlights that are muted down with a cool medium blonde after application.

Kind Regards

Scott
